That confession of sin was motivated only by pride, only by sin, only by a desire to further hurt the woman who, in spite of his sin, had been faithful to him. I have never yet heard any man who, under such circumstances, confessed such a sin while simultaneously showing grace or a truly Christian repentance. This was not a Christian act.
